Amanohashidate
天橋立
Amanohashidate is a narrow, tree-lined sandbar that stretches across Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto and is celebrated as one of Japan’s three greatest scenic views. You can stroll or bike the peaceful strip, take a boat around the bay, or climb a nearby viewpoint and try the traditional matanozoki—bend forward and look between your legs to see the sandbar appear like a bridge to the heavens.
