Owakudani

大涌谷

Owakudani is a dramatic volcanic valley formed about 3,000 years ago when the Hakone volcano erupted; today its steaming sulphur vents and hot springs create an otherworldly landscape to explore. Visitors can smell the sulphur, watch clouds of steam rising from the ground, and snap striking photos of the rugged valley and surrounding peaks.
